Schizophrenia Awareness Week 2018

Schizophrenia Awareness Week (SAW) commenced in 1986, and has previously been listed on the NSW Mental Health Commission’s calendar.
This year, Schizophrenia Awareness Week will be held from the 20 to 27 May 2018. This coincides with the week of World Schizophrenia Awareness Day (24 May).
The national theme for 2018 is “Do What You Can Do”.
People with schizophrenia are among the most highly stigmatised and socially marginalised people in our community. Through this week, Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (MIFA) aims to reduce stigma towards people affected by schizophrenia, bust myths about schizophrenia, and promote help-seeking by people affected by schizophrenia and their carers.
